The Twin Cities Professional Photographers Association, presented Rod Andrew Wilson. Of Andrews Photography with this years Wedding Photographer of the Year Award. Rod entered 4 prints from past weddings and each print received a merit, a 81-87 out of a 100.Andrews Photography picked through many weddings and images. The four he choose were based on the 12 points of a merit.

Rod also received the Top wedding Image Award for 'The Bridal Party" The Bridal Party scored a nice 87 out of a 100. Thanks Jen and Eric for having such a wonderful day to document.

Each Month TCPPA gave out a word and The photographers in the group had to come up with there best rendition of the word. Everyone in the group then saw the image the next month and voted on there favorite image. Rod only entered 9 months but came away with the top award, The runners up were Rod Oman and Rod Radke. Nyssa, thanks for posing for me. We only had a few minutes to snap off a few photos before she was off to work. Cool blue background just had to pull it out for her. We tried out the new yellow background too.

We had a chance to take Photos of Sasha a High School Senior from North High. Only one hiccup to the session, she forgot her favorite red Jacket. Dad to the rescue he must have been in a jet car or something he only took 15 minutes to get here. Dominoes eat your heart out. We shot some on the way back to the studio and finished up in studio. Rod tried something new at the end of the session and it turned out to be Sashas favorite. See the sepia hard edge light photo. Very bold and dynamic look.

How does your High School Senior see her or himself? Much of the session is determined in the attitude of the senior as the arrive. Sasha commented during the first 15 minutes of the session that this wasn't what she expected. She though it was going to be, hey just take a seat here do this smile, your done. Lots of smiles and comments on wow Rods a bit goofy followed. Glad she had fun that's what the experience is all about. Be prepared come happy and well do the rest.

Some personal work just walking around trying out new things and came upon this Balloon Arch at the Farmers Market in Saint Paul. Just up the street from were I live in the Tilsner Building.

Andrews Photography a 10 minute headshot for Singer / Song Writer Aram "AJ"

A local Singer Aram or "AJ" was in need of some head shots for one of his auditions. This guy tried out for American Idol. He met the performers to Kooza at Elbario in Saint Paul. Hung out with the Newkids on the block when they were in town at Mickeys dinner. The man is out their having the time of his life. Sings with two local bands and has time for Mass every Sunday. Sometimes he even has time to return a call.

He said, "Rod just a quick headshot please." this is what he got 10 minutes later.
One thing though if your doing a 10 minute shoot, don't be late. Oh ya he over slept, good thing We have plenty to do while waiting for sleepy head. We think he figured.... since I don't have to do my hair?

Danami "musician", Headshots in Saint Paul, Andrews Photography Danami needed a few head shots done of himself. For his cd release party and of course his new LP out this fall. He also needed a silhouette shot with some art placed inside. Danami found images that meant something to him. A few famous persona's that had a impact on his life. Plus we added a few of him in there too. Fun headshots in under 2 hours. We did two clothing changes and 4 slight lighting changes to make this shoot work. Danami had a clear idea of what he wanted and he got it and more. This image is going to make one killer poster! Andrews Photography is always up for something new and engaging. This helps our grey matter expand.

Andrews Photography decided to start the shoot out with some hard directional light. Less is more kind of thing. Then we did a few fun poses with some emotion and topped it off with him adjusting his hair. We got a few great photographs of him doing his thing. Danami really knew how to move in front of the camera, thanks for bring the emotion.

Live your dreams people, Danami is out there doing his thing. I can tell you he doesn't waste time. The kids going to school, has three years left, taped the photo session for his youtubetv thing. Does short films and gets in the studio to tape his recordings any chance he can get. He just got back from San Diego his first vaca in years.

Mike rented 3 kittens for the shoot and brought a kitten wrangler. Way to go Mike best shoot we have ever done with kittens. Katrina was nice enough to send over the finished product with our photos in them. Commercial shoots are a lot of fun this one was a breeze. Andrews Photography hits the jackpot. Glady and Frank were kind enough to invite us into there home to snap a few family portraits of them interacting with there pets. The dogs were on there best behavior or was it just plain good parenting. We walked through what the family did on a day to day basis. Just to see how they all interacted with each other. We all had so much fun with were is the treat find the treat. The dogs went crazy trying to find the milk bone. Sunshine was the winner, good girl. Baby Makayla and Her Dog Tucker, Andrews Photography gets down in the grass with the dogs. Rod had to get real low in the grass to get this little angel smile. What a great day and we had such nice light falling though the trees. Tucker, Makaylas dog had to get in and give her a little kiss.
